Detailed information

Product detailed description

The color of the wine is ruby red with orange highlights. The aroma is reminiscent of dried grapes, with a pleasant spiciness that is very tempting. The taste is soft, long, harmonious, the mouth remains clean and satisfied.  Only the best grapes  they are selected for the "passimento" drying process, which lasts 90 days. Grapes during the harvest are placed in crates, one grape  always next to each other. The grapes collected in this way are stored in a warehouse designated for the passimento process. This area is equipped with large fans. Higher humidity and higher temperature are kept in the space. Grapes are dried here. Grapes for the production of Amarone can be pressed officially from December 15. However, most winemakers extend this process until mid-January. Grapes lose 50% of their weight during the drying process. After pressing and aging first in a stainless steel tank, the wine is aged 30 months in French oak barrels, of which 70% are large barrels (25 hl) and 30% in barrique barrels (225 l). The wine is put on sale only eight months after bottling. Wine intended for archiving for 10-15 years. The vineyards are located between Mezzane and Marcellis at an altitude of  300 m. n. m. The way of leadership is Guyot. The soil is clayey to limestone,  with a large deposit of dead parts. The grapes are hand-picked in  2nd half of September

The following structure of varieties is used for production: : Corvina 50%, Corvinone 20%, Rondinella 25%, Oseleta 5%

The Corvinone variety  is a red Italian variety, grown mainly in the Veneto region, in the northern part of Italy. In 2010, the total area was 930 ha. Corvina is a variety that is mainly blended with other red varieties such as Rondinella, Molinara and other autochthonous varieties mainly from the Valpolicella region. Corvina is dominant in red wine called Valpolicella or Bardolino.

Corvinone This is another red variety grown mainly in the Valpolicella and Bardolino areas. It forms the basis of great wines such as Amarone and Reciotto.

  Why do I like it?

Amarone wine is ranked among the three most important red wines from Italy, along with Brunello di Montalcino and Barolo from Piemonte. Amarone always has its typical taste, which reflects the grapes that are dried until the beginning of January.  This wine tastes great just by the glass, it doesn't necessarily require pairing with food. The taste of the wine  is reminiscent of raisins, fruit, and thanks to its subtle spiciness, it is very captivating.
