Detailed information

Product detailed description

Gewütraminer is an important variety that is grown mainly in the Trentino region. The wine has  straw yellow to golden. The smell is  intense, strong notes of tropical fruit, lychee, pineapple, banana.  The taste is  full, aromatic, velvety, .We recommend  as an aperitif, suitable for apple risottos, prosciutto crudo ham, figs, yellow melons, various pâtés, shrimps, mussels, white meats, cheeses, cooked pasta. We recommend serving at a temperature of 11°-13°C. This wine can be stored for about three years, with the passage of time the tones start to dominate  ripe  tropical fruit and aromatics.

About the winery: "One hundred and fifty years ago,  great-great-grandfather Luigi began a story that continues today with his great-granddaughter Elisabetta, with his father Marco and his  mother Emanuela. Together they focus on the  goal of producing wines that interpret the highest expression of the territory and are able to excite with every sip. Quality has always been their benchmark. Thanks to the historical memory of her father, Elisabetta learned  the tradition that I try to combine every day with the modern qualities of an excellent cellar. This mastery finds its oenological synthesis in their wine "Teroldego Sangue di Drago", which has received many important awards over the years, an incentive for all of us to strive for better results. I represent the sixth generation of the winery, a development that continues in history, the present and the future.  The Gew¨traminer vineyards are on a limestone-clay subsoil, the method of guiding these vines is the Trentino pergola. The harvest is at the beginning of September.

Why do I like it?

Sometimes one appreciates  more pronounced tones and taste of white wine. When he imagines the beautiful landscape of the Piana Rotaliana basin at the very end of the Dolomites while sipping this important variety, he will enjoy this moment of pleasure even more.

Gewütraminer variety

The origin of this variety, whose cultivation dates back to the sixteenth century in Alsace, remains unclear. It remains a certain fact that it came to Trento from the province of Bolzano.
This is a variety with a delicate and intense aroma that passes from the berries to the wine itself and gives it an unmistakable character. The exceptional morphological conditions of our region, the sloping character of the landscape and the Nordic climate, give this variety a uniqueness, also thanks to the suitable exposure of the vineyards and the altitude.
Production is very limited and the grapes ripen early. The name of the wine is two-word (typically German), composed of two basic words Gewurz and Traminer. The first of them is the past participle of the verb Wurzen, which means spicy, and Tramin (Termeno) is a charming village in Alto Adige situated on the Strada del vino. Traminer Aromatico: the grape is relatively small, compact, short, the berries are amber-pink in color with fleshy flesh and an aromatic taste.
