Product detailed description
Bright golden yellow color, with a bouquet and taste of resin notes. In taste is clean, soft, with tones of wood with a long and gentle, persistent finish. Typical grappa for the mountain region of the Dolomites.
The year is 1888, the mountain town of Faver, Val di Cembra region, where a boy named Cilien was born. Later, this man was very fascinated by prohibition and so after the First World War, he becomes the first and true pioneer in the period of illegality. A lot of stories have been preserved about it, in which stubbornness and resentment against the gendarmerie are intertwined. This grappa is aged for at least 2 years in wooden barrels (barrique and large).
How did Cilien fare in the 12/2017 Wine Degustation magazine test? 88.57 points, lighter straw yellow color with straw reflections. The aroma is more intense and elegant, with pleasant notes of noble wood, dried apricots and caramel. The taste is medium-bodied and structured, with a pleasant combination of dried red fruit and sweet spices. A long noble finish.
