Product detailed description

The color of the wine is intense ruby red with violet shades. The aroma is very distinctive, pleasantly fruity with hints of raspberry, cherry, pomegranate and a whiff of floral notes reminiscent of violets. Dry wine with a velvety tannin taste, full, spicy, spicy with a long aftertaste.

Teroldego produces a demanding and interesting wine that goes well with red meats, tongue, stewed and boiled snails and aged cheeses. It is also recommended for "salty meats" and for risotto on Teroldeg. The Teroldego vineyards are located in an area called Piana Rotaliana, the soil is mainly  limestone clay, the vines are guided by a typical Trentino pergola. The grapes are picked in the second half of September. ,Gentle pressing is followed by fermentation  in a stainless steel tank at a controlled temperature of 16 - 18 ° for 20 days, subsequent maturation is in a stainless steel tank.

Why do I like it?

The wine impresses with its full color with floral tones. A very old variety that will dazzle all those looking for autochthonous varieties of Italy. Teroldego variety This is an autochthonous variety that is grown in the alluvial soils of the river Noce, in the area called "Campo Rotaliano" between the towns of Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona and Grumo, where it has the optimal environment.
The first mention of Teroldego dates back to 1300 and the Trident the council (1545-1563) was the first occasion where the variety gained international fame. Rumor has it that the "Terodola" vine came to Trentino together with the mulberry tree introduced by the migrant population. It is genetically related to the Lagrein, Marzemino and Syrah varieties, all of which are probably of oriental origin.

Cesare Battisti (1875-1916) described the Piana Rotaliana area as "the most beautiful vineyard in Europe", which, thanks to the composition of the soil, the flooding of the river Noca and the specific micro-climatic conditions, predisposes even today to the production of wines of exceptional quality. Outside of its traditional area, it does not achieve such organoleptic properties that led to the designation of Teroldego Rotaliana "Prince" of Trentino.

Teroldego has an elongated grape of medium size. They form short wings at the base. The berries are medium-sized, blue-black in color with juicy, sweet and sour flesh. The leaf is large, pentagonal and three-lobed.
